Thamus discovered 7 months ago- I've grown accustomed to your face Now tell me - would you go out to the cinema watch a movie about a typeface? No, there's no punchline, though I might mutter, "me neither." So what are we to make of a new movie, just premiered, called Helvetica, which has been winning rave reviews and already has a rating of 7.8 out of 10 from users of IMDb, the Internet Movie Database, the net's demanding house of movie worship. Quote: "The Helvetica typeface is one of the most ubiquitous design classics of our time. And to celebrate its fiftieth anniversary this year, Gary Huswit has produced and directed a well-made film, with a sublime soundtrack, about its genesis. Full of examples of where, how and by whom Helvetica has been used, the film contains insightful interviews with many leading contemporary designers and typographers."
