    Emptying your trash and removing preference tabs will NOT speed up your OS X system. I stopped reading after that, surely there are other useless tips.

    Most of these ideas are a huge waste of time and some could actually harm your system if you don't know what you are doing. Mac OS X performs excellently without any tinkering. Do something productive or fun with your Macintosh, don't waste your time with this. If you really want to waste hours tinkering to get things to work the way they should, you should consider using Microsoft Windows.
