Angry-Gus discovered 15 months ago- The U.N.-human rights cadre has decided that one of the most pressing human rights issues facing the world is that people have too much liberty to mock and criticize religions (especially one that is explicitly named). They want something done about this.

Religious Defamation At Muslim Prodding
From the page: "GENEVA: Islamic countries pushed through a resolution at the U.N. Human Rights Council on Friday urging a global prohibition on the public defamation of religion - a response largely to the furor last year over caricatures published in a Danish newspaper of the Muslim Prophet Muhammad.
The document "focuses on protection of religions themselves, particularly Islam, rather than the rights of individuals, including members of religious minorities," the New York-based rights group said in a statement.
I don't think this has anything to do with religious persecution. I feel this is about a group of men trying to suppress peoples right to speak and worship as they believe. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is one of the 57 members of the Islamic conference. This is a man who has repeatedly called for Israel to be wiped off the map. I really try to stay out of religious matters, but I don't think that is what this is. Of course I have an opinion on everything. Blech.- U.N. Rights Councel Adopts Resolution Against

JD001 rated 15 months ago- The problem with this resolution, it only pertains to Islam. If it were to include the other religions of the human race, it would be more acceptable. As it stands, this is not a good resolution. Hopefully, those countries that have voted against this, or have abstained, will not be bound by this resolution.
