Again, making me sure that I am wasting my time studying philosophy, given the limits of language and perception. We are just coming up with arbitrary rules, playing word games, and feeling smart for recognizing our own ignorance. But, I keep at it, because it's, dare I say it, interesting.

From the page: "ARE THERE CHOICES? EVERYTHING THAT CAN HAPPEN, MUST HAPPEN. YOUR THEORY SAYS THAT FOR EVERY UNIVERSE THAT'S FORMED TO ACCOMMODATE YOUR 'NO', THERE MUST BE ONE TO ACCOMMODATE YOUR 'YES'. BUT YOU SAID YOU WOULD NEVER COMMIT MURDER. THE FABRIC OF THE COSMOS TREMBLES BEFORE YOUR TERRIBLE CERTAINTY. YOUR MORALITY BECOMES A FORCE AS STRONG AS GRAVITY. And, thought Death, space certainly has a lot to answer for."

TERRY PRATCHETT on: This is how Erwin Schroedinger died - maybe. And a good bed-time-story for your smart children.

Terry Pratchett is one of my favorite authors, and this short story doesn't disappoint.
