allen-taylor rated 4 months ago- I very seriously doubt that anyone in the Bush Administration will be charged with war crimes.

Kaose rated 4 months ago- "But...but...but...Obama is bowling!"

boboki rated 4 months ago- ACLU finally uncovers something with written signatures of the Bush party on it all the way to the top showing 100% undeniable illegal and unconstitutional acts which amount to no less than war crimes and treason, are oddly hardly spoken at all about by any media channel.... but Obama bowling is all the important news.

DannyAndNina rated 4 months ago- Media coverage of the disclosure of the "torture memo" authored by Bush Justice Department official John C. Yoo has been mostly a deafening silence. But on this morning's Chris Matthews' show, someone finally fired a shot. As we mentioned in this morning's liveblog, credit goes to The Atlantic's Andrew Sullivan, for taking the opportunity to ensure that this matter got out into the televised discourse somehow.

AvangionQ rated 4 months ago- From the page: "The latest revelations on the torture front show the memo from John Yoo .. means that Don Rumsfeld, David Addington and John Yoo should not leave the United States any time soon. They will be, at some point, indicted for war crimes." - Andrew Sullivan ... while this may be technically true, we're not likely to see any action taken by the political hacks and Pat Robertson law school graduates currently running the Department of Justice, and any investigation into the matter isn't likely to be handled until 2009 with the next batch of U.S. Attorneys ...

- An investigative press cannot be institutionalized. In the Watergate case, there were two men who understood that they could serve themselves with an investigative report, and we reaped the benefits. That was a rare occurence, like finding a ripe strawberry in April. We cannot expect that institutional journalism will produce such fruit as required. Without overwhelming demonstrations of public support, newsmen will ignore dangerous stories.
