Looks like clinical depression to me. I have a close family memeber whose house gets like this when she goes off her meds. Fortunately she has people who care about her and come and clean and look after her till she is back to balanced. I feel sorry for the resident and the owner alike. Trying to draw some sort of general conclusions about any group of people based on this sad mess is a mistake though.

I feel comfortable with the mess in my livingroom now. I still have a long way to go.
