highroadfarm rated 7 months ago- I think the Bible is a "Good" book. I just don't know that it is "The Good Book". The big thing for me is I just don't buy the Heaven/Hell part. I'm looking into it, if I come up with something, I will get back with you on it.

It is interesting that we think we are so enlightened now. More people are being killed annually now then have ever been killed before. Most people that speak about the bible as a tome of ignorance have never actually read the whole thing, or even a single book of the bible. They base everything on hear say and rumor. It is like saying you know what wine tastes like because it has been described to you, but when you actually have an educated palette and know what you are tasting the experience is quite different. For all the fallacy purported to be in this book there is also a lot of truth and understanding. Perhaps the flaw is in the people that are reading and interpreting the bible from the narrowness of their mind. If this book is so irrelevant why do people keep trying to understand it? Of coarse there are good people who aren't religious, but bad people are everywhere. It's just that some use religion as their excuse, but remember Darwinism is also used to justify letting poor people suffer. If they were smart they wouldn't be poor, it is just natural selection. People understanding of religion rarely evolves past the understanding they developed as a child. [raving rant fizzles]- :-]

itskerem rated 8 months ago- christianity is annoying because of intolerant, imposing christians. not inconsistencies in the bible, which many christians would argue is not meant to be taken literally.
