I only just discovered the site and don't know if all the bad comments are true. However even if, it's a great way to polish your skills and have something other than your personal blog to list in your portfolio. I'm definitely going to give this site a chance

I've been with Helium for over 15 months so far it's been the best paying writers site I've used on the web. You need to get around 50 articles on to make any cash but they continue to make cash while ever anyone is reading them. I've found they pay very promptly and have had no problems with them at all

Read the other reviews as there seems to be considerable evidence that the site does not actually pay the writers, or does so rarely. From a reader's perspective there is some good information.

From the Page: "Helium is a community of writers who are revolutionizing publishing."

Not as great as the adverts will make out. Not good for real writers and real topics. Do not pay as there is always a way not to. Much better sites out there, to commercial for real writers learning and honing their trade.

Helium never pays it's writers. They say they do but they never actually come through with the money.

Great site for writers to submit their writing, get feedbacks and join in community forums.

Writers' forum, pretty much; allows you to submit your own writings on a topic, have others read it and rate it. I like the varied prompts, but am iffy about turning something in to the site itself.

Major credibility gap a mile wide. Helium is an idea who's time has come, gone, and been done better elsewhere.
