- Wicca is Christianity only with different clothes and symbols. Wicca just like Christianity aims to control people and to deny them personal spiritual meaning.

goanna-mannor rated 2 months ago- An Interesting site on pagen holidays but please refer to appltreegirl's review on this as she has it all covered with her review thanks appletreegirl for that great review ! and for correct info in regards to the errors for midsummer

appletreegirl rated 3 months ago- While this website seems relatively user friendly, the information on the wheel of the year is extremely basic. The basic gist of what is said is correct, but is severely lacking in actual information about the holidays. eg. Samhain is actually Celtic in origin and celebrated the beginning of winter (as the Celt's only recognised two seasons). Yule - no mention of the connections to Saturnalia and Sol Inviticus Ostara - no mention of Bride or the celtic myth which explains the egg laying rabbit, one that can be used quite successfully in ritual. Beltaine is not a spring festival. It is the first day of Summer (celtic again) The information for Midsummer is completely incorrect. It has been confused with Beltaine. The fae were assosiated with May Day and it was considered exceptionally dangerous to fall asleep under a Hawthorne tree on that day. Mabon is the name of a Welsh God and it can be helpful to learn about this myth in connection with the celebration.
