- Demonveen says "the letter...is intelligent, respectful and moderate." Yes, it is. And that's the problem. If you want this kind of crap out of your schools, you need to be outspoken, radical and angry. The squeaky wheel gets the grease.

demonveen rated 8 weeks ago- The letter this kid wrote is intelligent, respectful and moderate. The comments it has generated on both sides drift into the lunatic fringe. I do think that the smart way to go is to keep your kids the fuck out of public schools -- beg, borrow and budget and TEACH THEM AT HOME. I bet I know poorer people than you who have done it. (People always use time and money as excuses. I've known a lot of parents in my life -- if you WANT to do it you can do it.) If I ever have children, their first public school will be Community College when they are 16. @LeadNinja -- he shouldn't have to be happy that he doesn't live in Wales -- that is what we count on the Constitution for -- he should be angry that that protection is being eroded.

memachelle rated 2 months ago- the mantra in the south, "put prayer back in schools" what the fundies fail to realize, they do not have a monopoly on religion and prayer. sooooo, who's prayer do we use, dumbass?

voodooKobra rated 2 months ago- Fucking Christians.

MissMonet rated 2 months ago- It's nice to know that somebody is sticking to their beliefs here, without crushing somebody elses into the ground. This used to happen to me in school, forced into religious assemblies when I didnt follow the religion. But I didn't have the guts to say anything about it. I just wish that I could have my beliefs and not be harrassed about them. I don't harrass people with religion because I feel that everybody should be able to follow their beliefs, whatever it is, so long as it doesn't hurt anybody.

- Religion in public schools is completely inappropriate. Our education system is bad enough as it is. We don't need to spend tax $$ on religious assemblies which take the kids out of the classroom when they should be learning. I hope the message is received....unfortunately I don't have FAITH that it will be.
