From the page:Richard JordanJesus In the Psych Ward"My dad?he used to call me a pussy. He liked to ram the message home hard. That's why I'm here," my roommate tells me,not mentioning how he snorted Ritalinthen stole the Holy Water from St. Judes. I press him about it and he confesses, "Sometimes I think I'm Jesus." I try not to stare at the gashes on his forearms, try to ignore the yeast infection on his tongue. Behind barred windows, we all ooze something, so I concoct my own princely storiesand tell him lithium pacifies my Gandhi. This makes both of us feel at ease. Besides, I figure he could be the One."Very good. I would disagree with ilmmad on the assumption that this poem, unequivocally, lacks any emotional depth. If we were to negate all poetry and style, then analyze the concrete, could you not see the inherent emotion of two young men, grasping for any iota of hope they can wrest from the static hell of the typical psych ward? Sickness is suffering, and to find hope despite this suffering, is it not poetry? There is emotion to be found, indeed.

Not to sound like a Philistine, but that was nothing but poetry for the sake of being poetry - babble that is called art simply because. It evokes no emotions other than anger over wasted time.
