I am interested to read more views on climate change and what it may take to make the world less polluted and a healthier place to live. Scientists sometimes get confused by data, and forget the 'why' of a better world.Christopher

Weeble has a lot of great things to say and to pass along about science, politics, art, living as an English speaker in Japan...you should go check out his profile -- after you read this feature about trying to change the planet's weather for mankind's continued benefit.it makes green party people sound like a bunch of futurists and industrialists somehow!

Ecohackers - stupid or just plain nuts?

Got as far as 'Eco hackers' before I though, 'another lame eco buzzword that probably won't catch on, and more crap about the environment', which frankly I'm now sick to death of. Two points I intend to make regularly here. 1. Technology has caused these problems, pour money into research and technology can damn well sort them out. ANd when they do I won't be called them 'eco hackers'. 2. If the governments had got off their fat arses 30 years ago, we may have not been in this position. At least WE (the taxpayers) would not now be the ones paying for our governments inability to act effectively.

Well, we've done such a great job managing our environment so far, we obviously will be able to modify things for the better in the future.

Can the ecohackers save us? Many scientists now believe the Earth can be altered to tackle global warming. But are these geoengineers being overly optimistic? Danny Bradbury investigates
