tofflemiffle discovered 10 months ago- Beth Ditto from The Gossip writes about why having kids isn't necessarily the main thing that you want from life and why you should not be ashamed if that is not what you want.

RiaU rated 10 months ago- To vko, a person's life doesn't have to revolve around some money-sucking vampire. I have no interest in having kids (c'mon, after taking a good look at myself, I fear my kind). She is thoroughly enjoying her life and is incredibly happy. She gets to travel the world, see lots of things and give so much to herself and her family. She obviously works hard and she deserves it. Just because a monster hasn't burst forth from her womb does not mean she will be alone and miserable. She has family and friends and she has made her own damn decision.

MicheleL rated 10 months ago- I am 34 with a successful career and don't plan on having children. My career is demanding and I don't want to juggle both. I have never had that biological clock ticking. I live my life to my standards ... and refuse to let others define my life for me. I find the people that make those comments about childless people/couples are just trying to feel better about their own life decisions.

snapish rated 10 months ago- I've certainly heard from numerous people about how selfish and lonely childfree people are. Ummm . . . I refrain from saying "thank you for sharing your judgment on other peoples' lives, including mine, with your self-centered, ignorant comments. I'm sure your life and relationships are so perfect that you can tell us all how to live."
Whether you are lonely and self-centered is not decided by whether you have children, or not, are married, or not, are in a relationship, or not.- I've certainly heard from numerous people about how selfish and lonely childfree people are. Ummm . . . I refrain from saying "thank you for sharing your judgment on other peoples' lives, including mine, with your self-centered, ignorant comments. msaleem-stumbl rated 10 months ago- From the page: "I love kids - which is pretty lucky since I have seven brothers and sisters. Some of my friends are having babies now too, and I admire their will to be responsible for another human being, from now until for ever."

vko rated 10 months ago- If you don't have kids and live only for yourself, you'll be living a pretty lonely life. And if you have kids after 30, be prepared to be dealing with them way into your 40s and 50s.

cleo1903 rated 10 months ago- From the page: "This archaic idea - that a woman who is unmarried and childless at 30 is somehow unnatural - will probably always exist, and, like most social standards, it is ridiculous. Please, let's all make a pledge. Ignore it!"

jesusofdenver rated 10 months ago- great advice!
