This isn't very accurate. At times, it cites a noun in its base form and then compares it to the past tense.

I remember one time on school my teacher reprimanded me for writing "Towne" because I'd seen it written like that somewhere as a kid... so after that I swore to destroy British English before my death. I also swore to destroy communism, thats a different story though.

when I was an American studying in England, I had one particular professor cross out and correct each of my "misspellings" - he din't know I was an American, and I didn't feel like telling him either.
