This isn't a story that is meant to have a punchline. I remember first hearing it when I was around 10 (without the jerk part) and it's stuck with me ever since. Even now I meet some people and think "you are such a scorpion".

I've never liked this story, after all, scorpions choose whether to sting or not, and whether the sting will be deadly =/ Now I see, this one was simply an asshole.

I saw this and thought it was going to be some condescending political metaphor but I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't!
