"Our Green Electronics Guide ranks leading mobile and PC manufacturers on their global policies and practice on eliminating harmful chemicals and on taking responsibility for their products once they are discarded by consumers. Companies are ranked on information that is publicly available and communications/clarifications with the companies."

KaylinQ rated 6 months ago- From the page: Guide to Greener ElectronicsHow the companies line up"We first released our Guide to Greener Electronics in August 2006. The guide ranks the 18 top manufacturers of personal computers, mobile phones, TV s and games consoles according to their policies on toxic chemicals and recycling. In the sixth issue of the Guide, we added the leading manufacturers of TVs â€" NAMEly, Philips and Sharp â€" and the game console producers Nintendo and Microsoft. The other market leaders for TVs and game consoles are already included in the Guide."

Mag-la-surfeuse rated 8 months ago- I've used Greenpeace Guide to Greener Electronics to choose a new mobile phone.
My best-buys:
1/ Sony Ericsson (PVC-free since 2006? and BFR-free since oct 2001). Minus point: involved with military.
2/ Nokia (PVC-free since 2005 and partly BFR-free since ?). Plus point: an Eco-declaration for the consumer :-)
Samsung will be PVC-free in April 2008 and Sony by the end of 2010. Both are (partly) BFR-free. Samsung is involved with military.

darkscot rated 18 months ago- Oh dear Apple Corp! Your products may be super cool but they are far from green!
starspirit rated 38 months ago- Here is how the largest electronics companies rank on the toxic chemicals in their products. Removing toxic chemicals from products reduces pollution and makes reuse and recycling less hazardous and cheaper.
