Beautiful pearls... a lot of hard work goes into producing this lovely jewellery ,And these poor women only get a pittance for pay.                            &n bsp;            &nbs p;

I like that someone got pictures of this. Do you suppose the field workers, harvesting the pearls from their shells, dream of the "easy" life of a factory worker? Looked like they had clean uniforms, and got to work with finished product. Is there a chain you can move up or is it like a caste system where thats the job you're born to? To look at the process and cost involved in making any luxury item would probably sicken a lot of people out of buying them.

Not sure if this is for or against pearls, but it made me never want one again. :)

Just how much work is put into making the expensive necklace many women love? Luckily I don't like jewellery in the first place!

Kinda takes the glamor out of pearls, don't you think?
