    I've read 6 of these, but what is Harry Potter doing in this list?! Read: Tolstoj-War and Peace; Tolstoj-Anna Karenina; Jane Austen - Pride and Prejudice; Orwell- Animal Farm; Rowling-Harry potter and the philosopher's stone; Arthur Conan Doyle-The Hound of the Baskervilles Want to read: Fyodor Dostoevsky - The Brothers Karamozov; Fyodor Dostoevsky - Crime and Punishment; Orwell- 1984

    like most lists, idiosyncratic, but I think that what makes it interesting. Doesn't go very far beyond English/US literatures.

    No Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy? He could have so easily fit it in by omitting Pride and Prejudice.
