Although this seems like good advice it's not very universal. For example, it's unlikely that going to church together would help me and my wife (unless we needed a good laugh). The secret is really simple: Treat your spouse like a human being. Respect and trust are key. Don't try to change each other, just relax and let go of foolish ideas that the rest of the world has about marriage and enjoy each other. Marriage shouldn't be a chore so what's the point in a long list of do's and don'ts. If you don't know how to treat all people, you certainly won't know how to treat your spouse.
