Windows version of course is out in standard form from Google. But the Mac version is still in only in Beta/Dev and only available for Intel Macs. Linux is also available in Beta/Dev only --if you have a hefty enough system running a Debian 5 or related Debian based system like Ubuntu 8.0.4 or later. Links on their developer blog. Also, apparently they have their own method of doing extensions. MyWOT extension is only available even for Windows if you use the latest Beta version of Chrome and AdBlock Plus is NOT available as yet. Think I will pass on it even in Windows for awhile yet. Although, I look forward to it when it's finished..even if WebKit engine isn't my favorite browser engine.

Chrome is a good browser. I just wish it had print preview and add-ons.

I'm using Filrefox, later versions are slower, but still i don't feel like having G. everywhere in my life, even though some Chrome features might be better

I think it is very informative and it provides new users with what they need to get started.

Damned google won't even let me download the windows version so I can use it with WINE. And it detects wine and rejects it when I try to install, and now they are coming out with a linux operating system, without releasing the linux chrome?

Chrome feels slick. It seems slightly more responsive than Firefox on my old P3 600MHz 128MB RAM laptop. But that's where the accolades end. It can't use StumbleUpon toolbar (~June'09) and it doesn't appear to have something like "Search for text when I start typing" (June'09) which I've become addicted to in Firefox. Also, it won't even estimate how long a download will take as far as I can tell (again, June'09). At the time of this writing NellSmith is the featured reviewer of this site and with all due respect many of her assertions are not shared by more reputable reviewers. While I am also a devout hater of Windows & Microsoft and am firmly against FF getting too big for its britches, Chrome is not really all that much faster (nor lighter in memory usage) than Firefox, if even noticeably faster at all. Further, as nice as it is to have a ~500k installer, it's kinda cheating when all that installer does is download the real program after you double-click the installer. In fact, on my hard drive my Chrome application folder (~60MB) is about twice as big as my Firefox application folder (~30MB), and Firefox is my default browser. To match her overarching point, I'm actually one of Google's biggest fans so it saddens me to be so down on one of their products, but I think it's important that their fans shun this to help them 'not be evil'. NellSmith, at least we can revel in our mutual ironies, 'neh? :-) If it ain't broke, don't fix it. For now Chrome stays on my older machine, and Firefox remains supreme.

like a typical google program, this has little for advanced options upon install and just goes through its whole download & installation without any prompt for where to save files etc. personally, i try to keep everything on my D drive... good luck here. what a pain in the ass.
