This is an excellent use of the mapping/google earth technology. Just click at the start of your journey, points along the way and let it calculate the distance you have travelled. Great for walking. No more pedometer for me. I can even work out how far I go before hand.

MapMyRun is ENDLESSLY better. I used Gmaps pedometer for a while; nothing wrong with it, but MapMyRun is just so much better in every way...
