It's drowning in irony. A tip for those who are looking to ban a book. If you are serious about it, then read it first. Nothing makes you more ignorant looking than taking things out of context and trying to make something out of nothing. One reason I thought was incredibly off was "talking about our firemen". If he actually read the book, then he would have understood that it was not set in our time. It is set in the future where censorship runs rampant and firemen are the ones that burn the books. So in the context the book uses, firemen are not the traditional sort.

"Downgrading Christians" and "talking about our firemen". I just don't understand why this wasn't banned years ago. No wonder I'm so screwed up - I read it as a teenager.

I somehow doubt that it's the book "downgrading Christians." An excellent argument against cousins marrying.

A story about book banning, and the book in question is one about book banning. Sometimes my fellow Conservatives ( Far, FAR, Right Persuasion ) can do the stupidest things, I swear! Talk about taking things out of context. The parent was irresponsible in not reading the book 1st before condemning it, and the school district is irresponsible in letting this travesty go on as long as it has. Read the book, and watch the movie, fer cryin' out loud!

Bring out the thought police, it's book banning season again. This takes 'Out of Context' to a whole new level.

so funny. I'm torn between yelling at the screen and rolling on the floor laughing. She was offended by cussing and the use of "gods" name in vain? Get your fucking priorities straight.
