The idea of making ethanol from food should be *obviously* stupid. Look what it's doing to corn prices in Mexico, for instance -- the price of tortillas, a dietary staple among the poor, has tripled in some cases. It's us snapping up yellow corn for gasoline, and white corn prices are fixed to yellow in Mexico. Even if this is corrected, we're still putting someone's dinner in our tank. Ethanol from food stock is a dead end.
