"A good place to keep yourself informed and see what others think." Articles, videos, and other content "gathered" by the members

Frome the page: "I can't believe I haven't reviewed Gather.com yet. It is an absolutely fantastic online community that is actually intelligent. It's sponsored by American Public Media, which powers various Minnesota Public Radio programs. According to this ClickZ article, "Gather.com has acquired about 30,000 registered users, 73 percent of whom have a college education, 72 percent of whom are between 30 and 60 years of age, and 80 percent of whom have a household income above $50,000." Plus, Gather writers accumulate points which can be translated into cash rewards, an additional incentive for Gather members to produce great content. Some Gather users are actually famous writers." That was Leiaxe's review for this site... I think is good to know more about it... I heard about Gather today from my friend Kikiiland... I want to find out more about it... Sounds interesting...

y2song rated 16 months ago- Instead having random writings spreading randomly all over the internet, this site gathers and collects all the writings from people who think of themselves as writers and sensitive souls. A lame ass mySpace clone for lame ass pseudo-intellectual grown-ups. BEWARE - no easy way to delete an account. You actually have to write an email to support@gather.com. Large amount of lame-ass spams.

My only complaint is that the site uses a lot of JavaScript and can be slow. I contacted customer service about it though, and a person replied back (within a day!) and assured me that they're aiming for a simplified and redesigned site within a few months.
EDIT JULY 06: Hoooray, they did change the site design completely, and I like it!- I can't believe I haven't reviewed Gather.com yet.
