Debunking Myths on Conspiracy Theories "The purpose of this article is to redress a number of general myths concerning so-called 'conspiracy theories', repeated by media organisations and other self-proclaimed guardians of the orthodoxy, as well as people who have been erroneously convinced that conspiracy theories are intellectual aberrations rather than the acknowledgment of a common historical and social phenomenon."

Many times I have used the term Cultist Liberal or the cult of liberalism. The is one of the better examples of what that brand of liberalism means. If I a rational person can think up something then pull it full formed out of my ass one could see how I would have great friends like Leukev7. The severe lack of any credible evidence will not keep reality from leaking in to kill the buzz of a lust for conspiracy theory. Oh and the lack of evidence is the clever means to reinforce the strong supposition that the conspiracy is real! LOL! I love this stuff and hope they never learn "the truth is out there!" Myth Mirth!

Borrowed from my friend Nath-Bi Excellent. Just keep your eyes open and your ear to the ground! * Debunking Myths on Conspiracy Theories * Beliefs have nothing to do with whether something is true or not. "Most conspiracy theorists are rational people who simply believe in a different version of events than the one promoted by the official media. In fact, the term 'conspiracy theory' was invented for that purpose by the media to discredit people who did not accept the official story of President Kennedy's assassination." Labeling something as a 'conspiracy theory' has no effect on the validity of the actual idea. It is simply a way of manipulating the perception of the idea and if there's one thing America is good at it's manipulating perception.

Okay, this page about why conspiracy theorist aren't crazy is fucked up for a lot of reasons, but let's skip down to Myth #16: Conspiracy theorists are crazy / nutty / kooky / cranky

"According to the Soviet and the Chinese governments, so were the political dissidents who were interned in psychiatric hospitals.
Most conspiracy theorists are rational people who simply believe in a different version of events than the one promoted by the official media. In fact, the term 'conspiracy theory' was invented for that purpose by the media to discredit people who did not accept the official story of President Kennedy's assassination.
On the internet, conspiracy topics unfortunately suffer from attacks by professional disinformation agents who pose as conspiracy theorists. They then support blatently ridiculous ideas and present those ideas in a manner that is difficult to take seriously, thus smearing all conspiracy theorists with the same characteristics.

So the reason that conspiracy theorists seem crazy/kooky is because secret agents of some sort are infiltrating their ranks and acting crazy to discredit the group as a whole.
Is that really what I read? That is one of the craziest things I have ever read in my life, and I work in a new-age bookstore(Means I read a lot of crazy stuff)

Well written document defending unpopular ideas often marginalized by mainstream media through the epithet "conspiracy theory".
