Proof that playing video games aren't all that bad. This gamer got the courage to respond in an accident from playing the America's Army video game.

Actually, the content of America's Army is really medical training. I already knew most of the stuff from Boy Scouts when I was becoming a medic.

I'm sorry, but if he needed a game to tell him what most people already know... Well.

now you see! video games can actually teach some of the dumbest people to do things right! Now lets stop blaming video games for all these under age kids doing stupid shit! BTW I think all games that are rated M should just be rated AO so parents stop bitching!

pretty much all he did was tell him to raise his arm above his head. Then the real guy showed up and took over

While it's nice that someone was able to save another person's life, I get the feeling that this story is merely exaggerating video game influences, perhaps as an ego battle against mouthy (and overly litigious) ignorants like Jack Thompson. Plus, it seems weird to think of video gamers as a separate community. It'd be like separating people who watch movies from the rest of the populace or something. It's just a medium of entertainment that everyone should be able to enjoy, and I just feel that there's no real need to overcomplicate the issue.
