You many remember the io-drive I posted about in October, which was superfast. It was expected to cost $19,000, the manufactures have confirmed the price of the 640GB version as $2,400 )this is still very expensive and if the apply this pricing to all the i-odrives that means that an 80GB version could cost as little as $300.

As I said when Fatgadget did that prior post, I'm preparing to get in line for these things.

$2400 for 640GB of flash storage, hopefully enterprises will start using this, pushing the price down.

From the page: "It slots into a PCIe slot on your PC and has some impressive specs including 800MB/sec read speed, 600MB/sec write speed, and 100,000 IOPS (input/output per second) per PCIe x4 card."
