Kaose discovered 10 months ago- Hmmm... with as much as my girlfriend hates Windows, I bet she would seriously consider switching to Linux. However, there is one small problem: Try as I might, I can not get WoW to run under Linux. Yes, I've tried Wine (and a few others). I did not work. She loves to play WoW, and wouldn't switch unless I could get WoW to run. Windows still rules the videogame department. Hell, it's the only reason I still have a Windows partition on my laptop.

- I'm so glad there are some people here who write with balanced views.
Because talking to people who are fanatical over an OS bears a resemblance to opening your front door to the religious.
The latter group think your life and the world are the pits, that your religion presumes an after-life and your God created the earth. [There are religions with large followings which do not include these].
Linux OS zealots likewise assume that your own computing is like theirs. ie you don't do video editing to tight deadlines, place a real priority on double-entry bookkeeping or have a limited staff-training budget. The Linuphiles also miss the mark with me and my own life.
[By comparison, the Flat-Earth Society people come across as quite different. They *know* they're out there alone!].
This blog calls upon us to look beyond our OS loyalties:
A plea to the author: Please do listen to your girlfriend's need for a life. If she's interested in design/accounting/a job, she might end up wondering why she gets rejected whenever she doesn't know the software specified in the job requirements.
A modern woman won't put up with a man who'll make her decisions for her. - I'm so glad there are some people here who write with balanced views.

- This is stupid as hell. linux isnt a security fix for windows. a retard behind the helm of a linux box isnt going to be secure either.
