zwsnipboy rated 15 months ago- Leehall is my friend on stumbleupon and has asked me to sign the following petition calling for the release of his friends after they were wrongfully imprisioned by the communist regime. I ask of you the same to help bring justice to this oppressive prosecutive treatment that's impeding upon human rights.
Leehall friend's sister Wen Jian has been arrested and imprisoned by the communist regime in China. She and her husband were both sentenced to a forced labour camp solely because they practise the Falun Gong meditation system, a system of Tai Chi style exercises. The Chinese Communist Party has been persecuting Falun Gong practitioners for 8 years and hundreds of thousands have been tortured, killed, abused, beaten and imprisoned. Some have even had their internal organs stolen to be sold to transplant seekers.
Wen Jian's life is in danger. A website has been created to raise awareness and to call for the immediate release of Wen Jian and her husband at freewebs.com/rescuewenjian/index.htm [ freewebs.com] . UK government officials have called for her release and an AI press release on March 20 urged people to take action: "Amnesty International considers them prisoners of conscience, detained for the peaceful exercise of the right to freedom of religion."
