It is amazing how may free applications, alias free quality applications are available to computer users today. This website freewaremission gives you a nice list of applications you can use on your computer.

Combined Community Codec Pack (CCCP) = ffdshow (tryout) + QuickTime Alternative + Real Alternative (I don't recommend Codec Packs they cause more trouble than they are worth) 11. Digsby = Miranda (Just personal prefrence, I want my IM client to be 'light' take minimal RAM and just Chat features none of the bloat/extras) 13. DVD Shrink = Handbrake (DVD Shrink hasn't been updated in ages, Handbrake has more modern codecs like Playstation 3, iPhone, etc) 19. GIMP = Artweaver (Much easier to use, very similar to Photoshop) 24. MeGUI = SUPER(C) (Easier to use) 29. Notepad++ = ConTEXT (Lots of cool highlighters) 33. PDF XChange Viewer = FoxIT (I actually haven't tried PDF XChange, but I've used FoxIT for a while and love it, no reason to try something else so far) 34. PDFCreator = CutePDF (I haven't tried PDFCreator, but love CutePDF) 43. SUPERAntiSpyware = SpyBot S&D (lets face it SpyBot is the de-facto standard) 46. TUGZip = 7Zip (simply the best archiver ever) PS: Did we really need 2 differnet memory testing tools - should have left one off and made the list 50 programs :)
