DJNazzy rated 7 months ago- If civil servants can't perform actions they don't agree with, they can't perform their jobs at all. If we let bureaucrats only do the parts of their jobs that they find agreeable, then the bureaucracy would become politically biased. It's not the bureaucrat's job to make decisions. They are the hands of government, the elected officials are the decision makers as the brain of government. They're supposed to leave their politics and religion at home. If they cannot do this, they should be fired immediately and take a job that does not require interaction with things they disagree with. Same thing goes for those self-righteous pharmacists that won't prescribe birth control. These people need to realize they are not being "persecuted" if they they deny service to someone and they get canned - being able to go on a morality power trip was NOT part of your job description. Argh, these cases frustrate me so much. Since when were we even allowed to refuse part of our jobs when its NOT based on bigotry? Why should you be allowed to say "I refuse to do 10% of the work you give me, but you have to let me keep my job as this is based on my religious beliefs."?
