sargt000 rated 8 months ago- this is awesome - i was just talking about this with this architect i met last night - apparently in my town green buildings go to the front of the line for approval by the city, and there are reductions in the building permit fees depending on how green they are. this is an awesome trend - yes the equipment is more expensive to install but it pays for itself in a short amount of time. my parents put in a super high efficiency furnace - the environment was not their deciding factor here, i'm the greenie weenie of the bunch - but they expect that it will pay for itself in under 5 years in energy savings (because they live on the fucking tundra, i swear. ok, i don't swear, but it's north.) they're going to be putting in an on-demand hot water tank next, and that actually IS to save water/energy. i'm starting to rub off on them...i can maybe stop the night time subliminal messaging i pipe into their house...
