ediblecomplex rated 4 months ago - It bothers me that so many people think this man didn't do the right thing, or even think that the philosophical view that "stealing is always wrong" is silly or elitist.
Ask yourself: What would society be like if it was normal, "moral" behavior to steal in a situation ...

Schitso rated 4 months ago- Good for him; I would've kept it. I could come up with some lame reason like "helping yourself will always hurt someone else", or "everyone else is doing it!", but really I just don't care. That money would be used to make the lives of myself and the people close to me better, and I care about them a bit more than everybody else. (Had to add a small bit of selflessness, eh?)

- I cannot believe the stupidity, ignorance, or perhaps malevolence in some of the comments on the website.

Thumbs up to the kid.
Thumbs down to those that would watch CBS news.
virgio rated 4 months ago- Article's simplistic but I agree with the overall view. I remember seeing story on TV about a teen scamming people on stock market sites. A lot of the people interviewed praised him for his 'ingenuity'. The common attitude seems to be take what you can get and who cares about everyone else. I think it's safe to say this is mostly the fault of the brand of capitalism we've developed.

- that's worth a lot of drugs and my University is already raping me in the ass for tuition. Then again... the dollar keeps getting weaker and tuition keeps going up. Motherfucker made the right investment.
nationcremation rated 4 months ago- Good for him and all but if I saw that money it would remind me of the end of Trainspotting. Steal some money in the beginning and truly live the rest of your life. Screw a job, choose life. I could survive for the rest of my life on that little money.
kchishol1970 rated 4 months ago- That kid is true blue and those idiots who berate him for being honest are the true losers. Of course, that offered scholarship is a great bonus.
smotpoker82 rated 4 months ago- i cant believe people are being so harsh to him for doing the right thing... well, i can, but it just boggles my mind... they act like they are so much better becuase they SAY they wouldve kept the money... the human race never ceases do dismay me...
exigentsky rated 4 months ago- The kid was smart and moral. Morality isn't relative to the benefit one may obtain by circumventing it. Returning the money was the morally logical choice. He had no claim to it. Donating it would be a good intention too, but giving away someone else's money doesn't smack of honesty either. The end doesn't justify the means. It didn't belong to him and should be returned to the owner. Certainly, if I lost my wallet, I would hope that people would return it instead of opportunistically robbing me.
BTW: This is not about being a Republican or Democrat. It's about being a good person. I'm more of a Democrat myself.
darkmystica rated 4 months ago- Kudos to the guy. But yeah, i soooo would've kept the money. Just thinking about all the shoes i could buy is good enough reason for me.
