    that's such a great job, to come up with ideas for testing durability of a product - and then actually doing it. For instance, laptop thrown out of plane into rocky mountains (or just drop it from helicopter), does it still boot?

    This is exactly why I have used, bought and owned Toughbooks since I left the Army in '97. I love them and they even survived my two young boys! Panasonic makes incredibly durable laptops... and I do not work for them either. :-)

    What was with all the product placement in that article? Did they think I'd be thirsty for the sweet, refreshing taste of Diet Coke and hungry for the delicious crunch of Doritos brand corn chips? Well, I'm not. I'm just kind of miffed.

    I know what I want for a future laptop. Treating my laptop like a hemophiliac baby is quite tiresome. The only problem is that this laptop series is very expensive.
