It is fascinating the concept of food and cultures over a time line. From the perspective of history this subject gets little attention especially in the sense that we are what we consume. It pays to know about the foods eaten by a culture at a given point in time. It does clue you in on lifespan and other topics of interest.

From the page: "Welcome to the Food Timeline! Food history presents a fascinating buffet of popular lore and contradictory facts. Some people will tell you it's impossible to express this topic in exact timeline format. They are correct. Most foods we eat are not invented; they evolve."
