    Back in the 1950's the rangers at Yosemite would build this huge bonfire atop Yosemite Falls. It was one of the main attractions at Yosemite. After environmentalists figured out that our forests were dying out because they were too well manicured and weren't getting the fertilization they needed the Firefall stopped. This is a photo of a naturally backlit waterfall at Yosemite in the winter. It's likely they got the idea for Firefall from this little jewel.
