ar0cketman discovered 11 months ago- Some of the advantages of fire fighting foam for structural fire fighting. As I see it, you're trading manpower for heat capacity. Water has an order of magnitude higher heat capacity than foam. As I see it, the ultimate solution would be a nozzle controlled proportioner, allowing the nozzleman to make these choices near real-time at the fire interface. Say, advance the handlines CAF/air-filled, then initial knockdown/cooling with water, following with foam for smothering.
