    The piece is 7 years old, and one of the articles it cites was published in 1982...it would be nice if the sources and content were updated... Regardless, diamonds do suck.

    Thank god I fell in love with a woman who would smack me if I ever bought her a diamond. That much suffering for a little hunk of carbon - ridiculous.

    Yeah, these are all true. But try proposing without a diamond ring, and you'll probably get called cheap and rejected.
