This post doesn't provide any more information or background. I am going to have to do a little information digging, although I don't contest the data. I want to know more. 87: The percentage of Afghan women who report suffering physical abuse, half of which is sexual. 60: The percentage of marriages in Afghanistan that are forced. 57: The percentage of Afghan brides who are under the age of 16. 88: The illiteracy rate amongst Afghan women. 05: The percentage of Afghan girls attending secondary school. 1 in 9: The number of women in Afghanistan who die in childbirth -- that's the highest in the world, alongside Sierra Leone. 1 Million: The number of Afghan widows who have no rights, including no right to work -- leaving them to beg on the street. £800 to £2,000: The price of a child bride if Afghanistan. And Afghanistan is the only country where the suicide rate is higher for women than for men. This makes me so angry because I think we actually had a chance of improving life in Afghanistan and we since lost our chance and turned Iraq into total chaos.

Just a few things to think about today, and every time you hear politicians talk about how we "liberated" Afghanistan and Afghan women.

- add it up... well dick cheney iz a known rapist @ large. and bush sr keeps company w/ cult pastor, doug coe, who haz a taliban-hitler mentality. then therez that nasty international slave brothel 'dyncorp'- pozing az afghan security. 2 top it off, u have uk currently making dealz w/ taliban, bla + of course- therez that caspian pipeline drama. and we already know taliban iz a cia faux-pas. so when ppl say theze r 'afghanistan' statz, itz not a true reflection on afghan culture. plain-n-simple, this sexist war crime haz been brought about by western fascizm. they r suffering from western crime + greed.
