Yes, there are bound to be errors, and yes, it's associated with the Morman Church, folks who some might think are absolutely obsessessed with the subject of family history, for all sorts of reasons, religious and otherwise, but don't let any of that turn you away from a website, or the Genealogy Research Centers in your community.

- Great resource for family historians, lots of free information available. If you do use the international genealogical index, be aware that sometimes there are errors. Take each listing with a grain of salt, and a guide for further research.

- This is a useful site, but I REALLY want to warn people about the information they find here. I can't tell you how much stuff I have found here related to my own family research that is just flat out wrong, and thats a story I hear over and over again. As Im sure any seasoned researcher would tell a new researcher....take the info and keep it in your notes, but always try to find something to back it up. Use Family Search as a research tool...but dont always take the information as "gospel"
