Of course that loss of power is precisely why it will never come to pass. Still it is nice to see it being discussed this much.

- Definitely need to re look out tax system this might be a partial answer.

- I'm not sure what to think of this. I do worry that it would have a negative effect on the economy (it would penalize people for buying, which could put a damper on economic growth).

- The Fair Tax is the most appropriate response to the current unfairness in the United States tax code. I'm pleased to support it.

- Forget the FairTax. Forget the Flat Tax. Vote for Ron Paul and re-institute the No Tax.

- K.I.S.S. We have just had a big donnybrook about illegal immigration. The Fair Tax would go a long way to remedy the problem. The only way you would pay taxes is if you were actually consuming something. It will collect taxes from people who are presently not paying. The entire underground economy would now be included with the added bonus everyone would take home everything they earned. Please remember the government does not earn money, it confiscates it from the people who do. All in favor of higher corporate income taxes need to remember that the corporation does not pay the taxes, they pass it on the the consumer.
