    A quick search of the word peck yielded this information: A dry measure of 8 quarts; the fourth part of a bushel, equal to 537.6 cubic inches (8.81 liters), my curiosity satisfied I will sleep well tonight. The only element missing was hugs around the neck, ala I love you a bushel and peck, a bushel and peck and a hug around the neck... song from the Damon Runyan based musical GUYS AND DOLLS, which if you haven't yet seen you most definitely should! I love this kid-friendly reference site and use it often. It includes dictionary, encyclopedia, almanac, atlas and more, including a great feature called Homework Help. Provided by publishers of Information Please Almanacs for kids, there is much here for adults as well.

    Great educational resource; good for kids, parents, students, and teachers alike. Ton of information and well-presented. Wish we could get kids to try here first rather than hopping on Google!
