This is supposed to be faster? It was slowing me down. Annoying. Maybe I missed something somewhere. (Not about "literature," by the way.)

I'm sad I didn't stumble this way back. Exactly what is needed. You read about how useful speed reading is (which isn't really all that special, just doing something more skillfully), but it is quite difficult to retrain your brain with a physical book after the current method has been drilled in so hopelessly since K-1st to present. You need good tools if you're goal is to unlearn, so to speak. And despite what anyone says, speed reading is very useful. All it is is reading faster, which is just as useful as typing, running, working, etc. faster. If you don't value your time so much, continue onwards to something more interesting.

Just look at the deluded people who say speed reading is useless. I am a doctor today and I have an incredible reading speed, which I built up slowly by reading everything I could get my hands on. No, speed reading does not make you miss text. t just makes you extremely efficient at distinguishing useless text from useful text. At high levels your eyes just skip across a page absorbing information rapidly.

Do not speed read if what you want to read is important. You just don't absorb it. Interesting site, but one that I don't feel I need.
