hatluck rated 12 months ago- I REALLY like this idea. They've taken modern CNC building up and have done it with sugar.

Lhasa rated 14 months ago- 3D-printer creating objects out of pure sugar. I work as a student assistant at our math department. The first job they gave me was to take care of the Elementary Geometry models and repair those who needed it. Years ago someone had bothered to create models of surfaces like the monkey saddle out of plaster and of harder stuff I didn't recognize... Imagine that: The models were about 30 cm tall, and he had made them of layers 0,5 cm thick. What an effort! They were pretty good, surprisingly exact. Now how easy making exact geometry models has become with possibilities like that... (Of course it's still way too expensive so they'll keep on exploiting poor students.)
