A videogame in Linux and PC flavors (a nice touch). I'm guessing this was inspired by the 1980's movie classic "War Games" starring Matthew Brodreck. Do... you.. want... to.. play.. a.. game? Yes, lets play Themonuclear War! Classic, gotta check this game out when time (and money) permits.

Who else remembers WarGames and wanted to slow down the video so they could play through all the named nuclear war scenarios? well, now you can. BOOM!

The genii at Introversion Software have brought out another superb game to add to Darwinia and Uplink. This one is called Defcon and it simulates a Cold War-style scenario where everyone dies... It's called Mutually Assured Destruction, and the winner is the person who causes the most genocide... Not played it yet, but I've spectated a few games. Certainly looks in league the the other two masterpieces.

A beautifully made simulation of the Cold-War stragey in action. Mutually Assured Destruction (M.A.D.) is the point of this game, and the goal is to lose less and destroy more than your enemies. I've dreamed of this game for years. Introversion does not dissapoint with this game.

I love this game. Whilst it's a simple idea with only a few unit types, everything meshes well together and it can be incredibly complex with any number of strategies to master. And that's not even taking into account having more than two players and the diplomacy options in effect. Plus, it's damn satisfying killing millions of people in a matter of seconds!
