the notes are more worthy It reminds me that there are thinkers out there. I can't just thumb this down because I think the idea isn't working or won't work. I had to thumb it up because it had people thinking of better ways. Better ways to conserve.

eh, worthless, assuming the people using he towel dispenser get it in the first place, they're just not going to care. If you're really inclined to save paper, just don't buy paper towels in the first place. They are unnecessary. Shake your hands after washing them and they'll be dry in seconds.

From the page: "with every piece of paper you take, you're taking away from the greenness of South America." Old wood, like that taken from rainforests, is far too valuable to be turned into paper towels. Paper towels are usually recycled already, or in least grown at tree farms. Rainforest wood is usually sold as lumber. Of course, logging is only a fraction of the problem. South American farmers regularly burn away vast sections of rainforest to make room for farmland- land that will be depleted from erosion and overuse shortly after it is cleared. Do you really want to save the rainforest? Find a way to improve South American farming practices, use alternative building materials for your home. Just don't let people's crying over paper distract you from the real problems.
