- There was a severe drought earlier this year in Argentina, the UK's biggest honey supplier, which meant the flowers that bees usually collect pollen from did not bloom. There was also an unusually cold summer, which further decreased production. Bees normally work throughout the daylight collecting pollen, but they are working only 3 hours a day because of the cold. Argentina will produce half of its usual honey yield
