mgteixeira rated 7 months ago- Ella Fitzgerald official website. Without her the world wouldn't be as beautifully.

chipboaz rated 11 months ago- When you talk about jazz vocalists, you simply can't end the conversation without talking about Ella Fitzgerald. She set the standard for classy performances in jazz - her phrasing swung, her ballads were touching, and her scatting was spontaneous genius. Everybody has something to say about Ella. Fortunately, this website has quite a bit to say as well - as a home base for Ella, it has all the info that you would want. You'll find a bio, recording lists, current announcements, and more. All in all, it's a fitting tribute to a jazz legend.

cafe-jazz rated 13 months ago- It' something out of a dream: a voice, a woman, and that beautiful beautiful sound. Ella Fitzgerald for me has been one of the greatest contributors of all time to the history of jazz. Her supreme talent has brought a lot of artists and audiences alike to another world entirely. taken from EllaFitzgerald.com Dubbed "The First Lady of Song," Ella Fitzgerald was the most popular female jazz singer in the United States for more than half a century. In her lifetime, she won 13 Grammy awards and sold over 40 million albums. Her voice was flexible, wide-ranging, accurate and ageless. She could sing sultry ballads, sweet jazz and imitate every instrument in an orchestra. She worked with all the jazz greats, from Duke Ellington, Count Basie and Nat King Cole, to Frank Sinatra, Dizzy Gillespie and Benny Goodman. (Or rather, some might say all the jazz greats had the pleasure of working with Ella.) She performed at top venues all over the world, and packed them to the hilt. Her audiences were as diverse as her vocal range. They were rich and poor, made up of all races, all religions and all nationalities. In fact, many of them had just one binding factor in common - they all loved her. "Music comes out of her. When she walks down the street, she leaves notes." -- Jimmy Rowles

charlis rated 17 months ago- It's not just that she has a voice more perfect than anyone else; it's that she knows how to sing. Knowing how to sing is so much more important than just having a voice.

KingBoy rated 18 months ago- What a talent she was. Site is a bit bland and functional, but Ella is eminently youtubable anyway.

CloneZero rated 19 months ago- Ella Jane Fitzgerald (April 25, 1917 - June 15, 1996), also known as Lady Ella (the First Lady of Song), was considered one of the most influential jazz vocalists of the 20th Century [1]. With a vocal range spanning three octaves, she was noted for her purity of tone, near faultless phrasing and intonation, and a "horn-like" improvisational ability, particularly in her scat singing. She is widely considered to have been one of the supreme interpreters of the Great American Songbook

- There are no words that can provide adequate justice in honor of this legend.
