I've gotten tired of YouTube because of this. Just a year ago it was the best place to quickly hear a song or movie clip; now media companies are taking down hundreds of videos, reducing the amount of useful and entertaining content. All you're left with is a bunch of people talking to their cameras, a few entertaining videos obscured by annotations and banner ads, and an entire undercurrent of not-quite-erotic material. I guess it's fine if you want to see the latest Avril Lavigne video uploaded by Sony BMG Music, and enjoy reading the racist, vitriolic comments of societies' lowest common denominator.

It's a gamble with their life savings that most people just aren't willing to take, even when their works are clear fair uses and even if EFF gives them free legal help."
