    Apps that everyone knows of or are useless + they all have Macs in the picture. Safe to say this is A grade thumbs down material.

    lol, wikipedia the most important site for research. yes, it is good for a *basic* overview but crikey fuck, the most important? i wont speak on the editing issues but please lets encourage students to read some books and journals.

    A lot of these web apps are pointless. They should be mentioning free and open source software if they want to really help out college students. What I find odd though is that people seem to think Wikipedia should not be cited. If you don't cite it, but you learn aspects of your topic from it, you're guilty of plagiarism. Wikipedia is a secondary source of information.

    I agree with Redikulous. Wikipedia is a good place to start if you need a clue to direct you to primary references, but no reputable college professor would accept it as a reference source for any college paper. Would you use Joe The Plumber as a reference source on a paper about the conflict in Israel?
